Crna Military - The United States Army Graduate Program in Anesthesia Nursing (USAGPAN) educates and prepares individuals to become independent Certified Registered Anesthesia Nurses (CRNAs). Upon graduation, CRNA ARMYs will serve for five years with the option to stay and continue as they increase in rank and pay, and serve as respected members of the military health care team.

Army and Veterans Administration (VA) CRNAs provide full-spectrum anesthesia in military and VA hospitals in the continental United States, Hawaii, Europe, Korea, and anywhere in the world where they are needed. USAGPAN's Mission The mission of the U.S. Army's Graduate Anesthesiology Nursing Program is to educate leaders in medicine that are based on evidence-based practice, competence, professionalism, communication, lifelong learning, and the social context of medicine.

U.S. Army Graduate Program in Ansthetic Nursing (USAGPAN) alumni began earning master's degrees through university affiliations in 1981. USAGPAN produces most of the CRNA of the active-duty Army and provides specialized training in field anesthesiology to ensure that graduates are qualified for deployment in wartime

, civil unrest, natural disasters or humanitarian missions. You do not need to meet any physical requirements before joining the military as an enlisted soldier. There are requirements if you are joining through ROTC or other officer track - your recruiter will provide details.

All must pass a military fitness test upon joining the army and again every year in service. As a nurse anesthesiologist, you will provide soldiers and their families with general anesthesia, respiratory therapy, cardiopulmonary resuscitation and fluid therapy. With capabilities from the operating room to handover surgical teams, you'll serve as an on-site expert in all areas where anesthesia is administered and gain valuable experience as a member of the U.S. Army's distinguished healthcare system.

Successful completion of this 36-month program now culminates in a Doctor of Nursing Practice degree from Baylor University Louise Herrington School of Nursing and eligibility to sit for the anesthesiologist certification exam.
